Around midnight on Sunday, Governor Babagana Umara Zulum showed up at Mohammed Goni College of Islamic Legal Studies (MOGOCOLIS), in Maiduguri, where some Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) from Abadam Local Government Area of Borno were being camped. Upon arrival, Zulum immediately sealed the entrance and supervised a headcount to identify actual IDPs, in order to put a stop to rampant cases of dubious residents pretending to be displaced. These shady individuals spend their day time at IDP camps to share food meant for IDPs, and towards the night, they return to their homes to sleep, with some of them benefiting from other means through which the state distributes food to vulnerable non IDPs in communities. Governor Zulum’s mission at the camp which ended at about past 1am, led to the discovery that out of 1,000 households in the records of humanitarian officials, 650 households were ghosts (non-existent). Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has told Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang that “no one is undroppable”, but backed his captain to overcome his recent dip in form. Aubameyang has scored only two Premier League goals all season. Lagos’ Anti-One Way Squad Impounds 42 Vehicles In Friday Traffic Law Enforcement

Three police officers and a naval rating are part of the offenders whose vehicles were impounded on Friday in the enforcement carried out by the Anti-Oneway and Other Traffic Offences Squad of the Lagos State Government. The traffic-offenders met their Waterloo during the Squad’s operations along Apapa-Oshodi Expressway and Mile 2 area of the State. No fewer than 42 vehicles, including two articulated trucks and commercial tricycles, driving against the traffic were arrested by the Squad led by the Commander of policemen in Governor’s Monitoring Team (GMT), Shola Jejeloye, a Superintendent of Police (SP). The Friday enforcement was jointly carried out by the Squad and men of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA). Amotekun Dismisses Officer For Killing Young Man In Ibadan

The Oyo State Security Network Agency, also known as Amotekun Corps, has dismissed one of its operatives, Kazeem Afolabi, for killing a young man in Ibadan. Afolabi was dismissed for killing Tosin Thomas at Mokola Roundabout area in the city on Wednesday. In a statement issued by the security network on Thursday, the state Commandant of Amotekun, Olayanju Olayinka, said the agency was alerted to a purported armed robbery operation at Total Filling Station, Mokola, Ibadan and it deployed a seven-man team to the scene. He said the team later discovered it was not a robbery attack, though a crowd had gathered. According to him, in the confusion that ensued, Afolabi allegedly shot the victim against Amotekun’s protocol.
